Shelia Roberts, Director/Coach – Prostyle Volleyball Academy
Sheila Roberts has been teaching and coaching in Florida’s public schools for the past 25 years. She began her varsity coaching career at LaBelle High School where she was named the FACA 3-A Coach of the Year for the Gulf Coast Region. Her team at LaBelle racked up 55 wins and 31 losses, going 24-8 in 1996. Coach Roberts then moved back to north Florida and was the assistant coach under Jose Morales at Wakulla High School for two years.
Sheila took the next 6 years off from coaching to raise her young children, Ashlyn and Taylor. Ashlyn was five and Taylor was 3 when Sheila went back to coaching at Sneads High School. During her career at Sneads, Sheila has won nine district titles, 8 consecutive appearances in the FHSAA Regional Finals, and three consecutive FHSAA 1-A State Championships. She has had 13 players recruited to play volleyball at the next level, and one Max Prep All-American third team member. Sheila received the Florida Dairy Farmers 1-A Coach of the year in 2013 and 2015. In 2013 she was named the AVCA Coach of the Year for District 2, Region 1.
In 2009, Coach Roberts was selected as the National Federation of State High Schools Volleyball Coach of the Year for Florida. In 2015, Coach Roberts was named the National Federation of High Schools Volleyball Coach of the Year for the Southeastern US. Coach Roberts is a graduate of Florida State University where she received her degree in Physical Education and Nova Southeastern University, where she received her Master’s Degree in Exceptional Student Education. She has been married to her husband, Jason for 21 years. They have two children, Ashlyn and Taylor. Ashlyn plays volleyball for the University of South Alabama, and Taylor has committed to play at Florida State University in 2018.
